Plantation Shutters

content_servicesPlantation shutters provide a European feel, they are classical or contemporary at the same time.

When selecting the style of shutters, Our consultant will help you to decide the best alternative to suit your home and lifestyle, taking into account such things as:

  • What is the level of privacy required
  • Is there a view to maximise
  • What are the most 'child-friendly' alternatives
  • What fixing methods are available

Once a list of options is established, the choice is yours!

Shutters are typically installed as Hinged, Bifold or Sliding. We can also cater for feature windows such as arches and triangles, corner and bay windows, as well as room dividers, robe and pantry doors.

Plantation shutters can cater for most shaped windows so there are very little limitations in where they can go. Our range come’s in 2 types of material’s which include:

Basswood

Plantation grown Basswood (tilia americana), has become one of the most widely used materials for shutters and timber blinds in the global market. This is due to its resistance to warping, easy workability, durability and its acceptance of a variety of finishes. The use of Basswood for musical instruments including guitars and piano soundboards reinforce its properties as a stable and reliable timber. 'Click here' to see our Basswood Colour Chart.

Fauxwood

Perfect for wet areas, our Fauxwood product won't crack, peel or warp meaning bathrooms and over kitchen sinks pose no problem.  'Click here' to see our Fauxwood Colour Chart. Whilst fauxwood is not warranted for heavily wet areas, it is ideal where mositure or occassional water repellant properties are required. Fauxwood is also fire retardent and termite resistant.

Some of the same designer colours are available in both finishes, meaning you can co-ordinate your home regardless of the situation.
